SMS Broadcasts

Send a single text message to hundreds or thousands of contacts at once — no technical setup required.

Overview

SMS Broadcasts let you reach your entire contact list, or a targeted segment of it, with a single outbound text message. Whether you are following up after a call campaign, sending a promotional offer, or re-engaging cold contacts, broadcasts give you a fast and reliable way to get your message out.

SMS Broadcasts are available on all Volume Reach plans.

How It Works

1

Compose your text in the SMS Sender. Keep it concise and include a clear call to action.

2
Choose your recipients

Filter by campaign, call outcome, or phone type to target exactly the right contacts.

3
Select a sending number

Pick which of your registered numbers to send from.

4
Preview the recipient count

Review the total number of contacts who will receive the message before committing.

5
Send

Volume Reach delivers the messages on your behalf. Every broadcast is tracked automatically.

Replies from contacts flow into your Conversations inbox so you can follow up individually.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Personalize when possible. Even a simple opener like "Hi [first name]" can meaningfully improve response rates.
  • Keep it short. Text messages perform best under 160 characters. Long messages may be split by carriers.
  • Match your audience to your message. Use campaign and outcome filters to send the most relevant message to each group — for example, targeting contacts who did not answer your last call.
  • Check your limits before sending. Large broadcasts may be subject to per-blast and daily sending limits. See Broadcast Limits for details.
  • Use templates for recurring messages. If you send similar messages regularly, save them as SMS Templates to save time and stay consistent. See SMS Templates.
  • Review opt-outs. Contacts who have opted out are automatically excluded from broadcasts. You do not need to manage this manually.
